Introducing the "What Works" Series
a weekly series on what works to build mental immunity
Beginning next week, we are launching a weekly series called What Works to Build Mental Immunity. These posts will provide concise overviews of techniques for developing mental immunity. For each concept in the series, we will explain it, cover ways that it can be applied, and cite background research.
This series is a part of our Mental Immunity to Manipulative Information Campaign (MIMIC), a project that is focused on creating educational resources for middle and high school teachers. For this reason, our coverage will be written for educators and centered on student learning.
MIMIC is part of CIRCE’s Mental Immunity Project, a collaborative attempt to translate basic research into impactful learning experiences. If you have suggestions that can improve our coverage, please share them via Substack’s comments feature. For example, you might suggest that we add a module, describe a fun classroom activity, or cite a particular study. Where we can, we’ll incorporate your suggestions.
We’re excited about this series and hope you will find it empowering. Tune in next week to learn how to cultivate disinformation awareness!
